Anton Heiller Improvises - [ACD-4003] $16.98

Six stellar examples of Anton Heiller's art of improvisation are captured on six different organs during live concerts and sessions for radio broadcasts 1963-1978. This is Vol. 3 of the Anton Heiller Edition produced by the Ambiente-Audio label in collaboration with Heiller's son, Bernhard Heiller.

Free Improvisation
Realized 17 February 1971 at St. Elizabeth's Church in Kilchberg, Switzerland. The organ was built in 1970 by the Swiss firm, Mathis, with 3 manuals, Pedal, and 29 stops.

Fantasy and Fugue
Realized 13 July 1977 at St. Michael's Church in Zwolle, The Netherlands, on a theme given at the 1952 organ improvisation competition in Haarlem, The Netherlands. The organ is the 1956 Flentrop restoration/reconstruction of the 1721 Schnitger. 4 manuals, Pedal, 64 stops.

Improvisation on Factus est repente
Realized 2 June 1963 at the Dominican Church in Vienna. The organ was built in 1895 by Gebrüder Rieger of Jägerndorf.

Improvisation on Ach wie flüchtig, ach wie nichtig combined with the final phrase of the so-called Jokl-Polka
Realized 29 June 1975 at the Collegiate Church in Ossiach. The organ was built in 1971 by the Swiss firm of Metzler with 2 manuals, Pedal, and 18 ranks.

Improvisation on Ave maris stella
Realized 8 December 1968 at the "New Cathedral St. Mary's" in Linz. The organ was built in 1968 by the Danish firm Marcussen with 4 manuals, Pedal, and 70 stops.

Improvisation on O Welt, ich muss Dich lassen
Realized 1 November 1978 at St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna, on the "Riesen-Orgel" built in 1960 By J. M. Kauffmann with 4 manuals, Pedal, and 125 stops
