A Kentucky Organ Tour
Nine Historic and Modern Pipe Organs of the Bluegrass
Schuyler Robinson, Organist - [OAR-960]
$15.98

Organist Schuyler Robinson tours nine pipe organs near Lexington, Kentucky -- the Bluegrass region of central Kentucky with rolling hills, countless horse farms outlined with white fences and 18th-century stone fences, horse racing, and Bluegrass music. Less known is the wealth of churches and institutions that house great pipe organs of historic and modern vintage. Schuyler Robinson is professor of organ at the University of Kentucky and assistant organist at Christ Church Cathedral (Episcopal) in Lexington.

Reviews James Hildreth in the The American Organist:
"Dr. Robinson's performances are distinguished by their elegance, clarity, and stylistic integrity. This is a fine documentation of the wealth of organ culture in the Bluegrass State.  . . . Significantly, the Persichetti work was commissioned by the University of Kentucky in 1966 and first performned on the 1952 Holtkamp in Memorial Hall."
