Reviews The American Record Guide, "This disc serves as a showcase for three 19th Century American organs. One of Rheinberger's sonatas is heard on each of these valuable instruments. Stevens's performances are much closer to the true organ style of Rheinberger than were most of the English Cathedral Series which surveyed his 20 sonatas . . . In fact, Stevens brings to these sonatas a very thorough understanding of Rheinberger's playing, especially in registration (what a pleasure to be able to give this rare accolade!), characterized by both dedication and faithfulness to Rheinberger's musical intentions. . . . we hear No. 6 on a beautiful organ, the 1891 Barckhoff in Lancaster, PA. A fine, pungent, metallic Pedal Posaune 16' and a sweet and plaintive 19th Century Oboe 8' -- a rarity -- can be savored in this sonata.  . . ."
